I ran a 70 shot dry kit for almost 2 years racing it every weekend during the warm months. Probably went through a bottle a week at points.
I then ran a 100 shot on a A6 bottom/Y8 head mini-me...the high compression of that setup made tuning more difficult, so I switched to P28 pistons. I ran the 100 for 8 months, dry kit again as well, then sold the car with the kit on it.
I think the D will take more certainly as long as the timing is addressed, you don't activate too low, or break some common "rules" when using nitrous. Beyond 100 shot though, I'd certainly go with an NX direct port. NX has the better solenoids.
Hmmmm...making me want to buy a project car to do a nitrous setup on. I LOVE nitrous!! Nitrous just feels like a built, hella stroke all motor car that makes huge torque. It feels like your driving a little V8 around...lol....guess that's why I stomped so many of those pony cars at the races.
Then again, I should have my DelSol done soon, and if I bought yet another car I might be slaughtered by my girlfriend.

Re: (LSVTEC 91 Civic)
ehhhhh, with tuning it may hold....in reality your talking about adding roughly 190whp , but maybe closer in true wtq to low 200's. If your conservative with the timing, and it's fueled generously (which fuel jet matches usually are) then it may still live.
Zexman is the only guy I know of that ran big juice on a single cam......it was back in the day though, and I think it was introduced in two stages.
If you could use a progressive controller with some NX solenoids, I guarantee that thing would hold a big shot like that. The key will be not to overload the rods suddenly by going from no shot to a 250 blow.....or even a 100 shot dry, with a second stage of 250 wet system coming in the latter part of the 1/4 mile.

Re: (RC000E)
the rods are either going to snap because they are like pencils or you will crack a ringland with a 250hp shot but if its just for ***** and giggles i would say do it and see what happens. just make sure you pull some timing

Exactly....and the D15 rods are known in the Dseries community to fail at much lower power levels than the D16 rods...especially the twin cam ZC rods.
It'd hold if done right...I'd put money on it.

That was done on a sunday at the shop.....Reason....The H22 wasn't going in there till we blowed the motor.Guess what it's in there now.LOL......THe car made 210whp and 212tq and the power hit so hard it made all the power in less than 300 rpm's there is no power curve as it goes straight up then over for both pulls 150 and 250
