Default Tial BOV question

Hello, I have a question about a Tial 50MM BOV. I recently bought a Civic that was turbocharged. I am changing some vacuum lines on the car. I removed the vacuum line that was/is going to the BOV. It came from a Golden Eagle vacuum manifold that was was getting its reference from the large brake booster vacuum line. I am not sure if I should try to send this one in for repair. To the best of my knowledge, the BOV was releasing pressure when you let off the gas. I only saw about 16-18" of vacuum though. So I do not know if the gas in the BOV was/is the reason for that.

What do you guys think?

im confused? whats your question? BOV are supposed to relieve pressure when you let off the gas, and as far as vacuum goes, where was that being referenced from?

Sorry about that. There was gas in the vacuum line and inside the BOV. I was wondering how that happened, if its normal, or what I should look for.

that sounds like you have some sort of leak, gas in the bov is a bit wierd

its a shot in the dark but i actually had a problem with a car (not honda) that ended up being the vacuum source to the FPR was sucking gas because the diaphragm in the FPR was ripped. if your regulator is hooked to the vacuum manifold that COULD be it, but ive never seen a honda FPR fail so....

that makes more sense, yeah, the only gas can get into vacuum lines is through the fuel pressure regulator, and considering all of your lines are connected through a manifold, I would almost certainly say that is your culprit. I have seen honda FPR's leak before, especially if it has been modified for the adjustable B&M FPR.

Thank you for the responses. Makes sense to me now. I guess it is time to invest in a new fuel pressure regulator. Do you think the BOV should be sent in for service? Or you think the diaphram and internals will still be ok?

yes, as said above... diaphram ripped on the pressure regulator. fills the top half of the regulator, which end up pushing fuel back through the vac line run to fpr, fills the vac manifold and ultimately anything connected to it.

depending on the regulator, most companies will sell a replacement diaphram.
