Default those with a Joe P mbc

i was thinkin about gettin me one of these. anyone experience boost spike or creep with it? i only boost 5lbs daily... but i want to be able to get better spool with my turbo. any downsides to gettin this mbc would be considered.

EDIT: also, a hallman was recommend as well. any experiences with this would help me make up my mind.

thanks

I have one with a Tial 35mm .45 bar wastegate. I had it set from 8psi at times to as high as 10psi and it never crept at all on me. I recommend it to anyone wanting a solid built, spike-free MBC!

Yeah, I had it at 7psi once and it did not spike. I soon bumped to 8psi though because I was trying to find 8psi during that session.

Seriously no spikes? I've heard nothing but boost spiking from MBC's on these boards and from someone who owns one.... more light on this please!

you will experience boost spikes at high boost levels. its normal. i think once you start boosting 9lbs and up.. thats when youre more susceptible to boost spike. even electronic boost controllers are still prone to boost spike. just not as much as manual boost controllers.

I made one similiar to the JoeP or whoever. Cost was about $7. I have it set at about 8 right now. Seems like it'll spike to 9 then drop to 8 immediately---once I caught it spike to 10, but it was the first boost after warming the motor that day. I like it, but dont trust it at all. It is just temporary until I can afford a profec b.

I have a turboXS MBC and i always get boost spike if I set it at or above 7 psi. It will spike about 1-2 psi higher than your maximum boost. Spiking also gets worse as u turn up your boost
