I have a T3 turbo with an internal wastegate. I want to hook a manual boost controller up to it but I'm not exactly sure how. There are two threaded holes on the wastegate. one is labled "boost" and has a hose going towards the compressor nipple. The other is left open but has a pinhole at the bottom of the hole.

1: If the wastegate is internally set for 15psi, can I set it to run lower by running an boost controller?
2: If so, where do I mount the boost controller?

 

you can't run boost any lower than what the WG is set for...if you wanna run lower than 15, you'll need a new WG altogether

 

you can try pluging the oriffice, it a bleed there to increase boost, so plugging it might lower it. Otherwise its ginna have to be changed.

 

On a related note, what boost are turbos off of turbo diesels set to run?

 

y0, why cant you just hook up some nos to the wastegate for a instant hp gain during the powerband but you have to be careful about that because youll blow up your engine or throw a rod if you boost too much. can i boost a 100shot on my car?
