Default Those with compressor on the drivers side

I was wondering what most of you guys were using as a filter. Especially if you have a bigger turbo. I have the SC52 and I am not able to get the regular k&N style/ractive filter in there. There is a bolt up against the block and against the engine bay that complete rips it apart. SO i need something slimmer or shorter.

If you guys could help me out on what kind works for you. Thanks

HKS foam.

Not the best, but it works.

I have a K/N with a 45degree coupler. It still hits the side of my chassis.

Yeah I'm having trouble too. I think if i can find a mushroom style filter It'll work. right now it's just a aluminum mesh screen held down with a worm clamp. works fine for now....but definatley only temporary. i think my valves will start getting dirty if I keep doing this

You could fabricate a cold air intake and place the filter inside the bumper.

I am running a K&N mounted straight to the turbo.

i was running an sc61 and i just stuck a universal cheapo 3" cone filter directly onto my turbo. it sat about an inch away from my chasis.

Ive got a HKS mushroom type filter spaced two inches from the turbo with aluminium tube to get it a bit further from the block and it still has two inches before it would touch the chasis

Imagestation is unbelievably *** slow right now, but..

I pulled the washer fluid reservoir and put the filter in the bumper for the cold air effect.

The screen setup is the worst of both worlds. Bad filtering and bad flow.
!SURFACE AREA!

I liked the write up though

There was a thread about this a little while ago and someone had bought a K&N filter then hacked it up and sandwitched it between two mesh screens...

I think if you cut a K&N into a circular pattern and then put it between two screens it would at least filter out some of the dust and stuff.... wouldn't solve the surface area problem but it would definately be more effective than just a screen and would be just as small....

Anyways, just a thought....

I am using a K&N filter mounted right on my SC50. I believe the part# was RU-3700, but I'm not at home right now to verify. I'll try and post a pic later.

K&N RX3900-1

Having the open end I think helps with surface area in tight spaces.

Bump for any other input and more pictures....

I'm thinking I am going to run a mushroom type filter on my next project... I just hope it fits!

Oh, by the way... does any one know where to get a mushroom type filter with a 2.5" inlet? I can only find 3" and I want to clamp it straight onto my compressor inlet.

on my buddies integra, he cut up his ebay intake and made sort of a CAI coming off the turbo. there's maybe 12" of piping that curves down off the turbo, and puts the filter in between the block and the frame.

Me to on a T3/T4 Turbo........... No problem with clearance once installed. It's not the cone style filter though. It's round with the coupler offset to one side. I'll try to get the K&N part number tomorrow and post it up.
