Thicker headgaskit with more boost
I drive a 87 teg with a B16 swap running with a 16g large turbo, fmic etc. I'm planning to put in a thicker head gaskit. As far as my understanding is concerned i think more space in combustion chamber (by adding thicker headgaskit) would give u more space for a better Blast means that the power stroke would be more powerful due to better blasting. So, by adding a thicker gaskit would give a better responce on the same tunning and boost level? or even if the tunning is changed?? im looking forward to put is a custom gaskit of 1.75mm(pressed) instead of the stock one and boost a little higher :D. i need ur suggestions and comments.
BTW if i use a thicker headgaskit then the timing wuold some how be a little off using stock cams and no camgears. I'll make the crank timing spot-on but what to do with the exhust/intake cam? should i retard intake cam a tooth or advance it??? which option is the best if a thicker headgaskit is used??
let me know .
Thanks

im sorry to say this, but you couldent be MORE WRONG. thicker headgaskets reduce compression so its the exact opposite, you loose power. what you gain is more room for error and detonation. here on h-tech its considered the wrong way to reduce compression. most people will recomend you step up and get some pistons and rods.
