Default thicker headgasket?

I have a b16a that i want to turbo and since the motor has relatively high compression i was wondering if it would be possible to lower the compression down to about 8 or 9:1 with just a thicker headgasket since i really dont have the money to build the motor. My goal for the car is about 300whp and since its my dd i want to make it as reliable as possible. Thanks in advance guys.

Yes you can run a thicker gasket to lower the compression. Also you are going to have to tune it/ Have it tuned. And premimum gas would be a good idea (no brainer to me)

Good luck!

I agree. Just stick with the stock compression and boost the damn thing. Get a good tune and build an efficient turbo setup...you wont have problems. The end...
