Thicker head gasket Questions
Hello all. I have been searching for days now to find whats the best compromise and answers to what I need to do.
Specs:
Jdm b18c sir-g 2 motor 10.6:1 stock pistons stock head
gt28rs turbo set at 7psi internal wastegate.
Aem ems
My goal:
~300Whp
There are many thicker head gaskets on the market. I know that too thick of a gasket will mess with the quinch area. Cometic makes a 0.040 gasket which translates to 1mm which would lower my compression to 10.3:1. Do you guys think thats a fair compromise over the stock head gasket / compression ratio.
Second question is I know you need adjustable cam gears to make up for the extra deck height. What would be the setting to get it close before I got to tune.
Third question is, which head bolts should I use. Should I get arp's if so will the ones made for the stock gsr work?
My last question is I have heard that getting a thicker head gasket leads to more cylinder vibration at higher rpm's. Should I run a block guard and if so which one is best?
