Default Is there such thing as too small of an exhaust housing?

Hey guys i'm running a greddy 18g turbo kit on a fully built 2.0 liter gsr..boosting 10.8 lbs making 300 whp...now as most of us know, the greddy kit is extremely conservative, being a street legal kit, someone had told me that since im making so much power on such a small kit with a small exhaust housing that it could be causing too much pressure to back up into the engine? does this make sense? i understand that this will without a doubt restrict power, but is it in anyway harmful to the motor?

isolated hot pockets of nonburnable gasses in the combustion chamber creating uneven flame travel, potentially localized hot spots leading to pre-ignition. and just overall less power output from a non-homogeneous mixture in the combustion chamber

^^^ yes it can become harmful to the exhaust side of the head. Because the hot exhaust gases cannot escape fast enough
