Default Take a look at this engine, It needs help

I'm fron the UK and have been learning from Hondatech for about 4 months, my friend has got a civic eg6 with an Integra type R engine.
This is my engine, I'm I've stipped it and I'm looking for around 300-400whp, the things I've considered are:
Equal length manifold
Carbon intake/plenum with larger throttle body
T60-1 turbo + external wg
24"x11"x3" intercooler
DTA engine management (standalone) distibutorless
Some higher flow injectors (not sure what cc yet)
Head is being ported and polished.

Have any of you guys got any comments on this motor? In the Uk people are going 7.5:1 compression and 1.6 bar of boost. Can I keep the compression the same for 15 -18 p.s.i?

Caracteristic of the Motor
Motor C 20 LET
Type DOHC
cubic capacity 1998 cm3
Number of cylinders 4
Boring 86,0 mm
Stroke 86,0 mm
Number of valves 16
Power 204 bhp at 5600 rpm
Couple 280 Nm at 2400 rpm
Compression 9,0:1
ECU: Motronic M2.7
System of ignition IS

Indication of octane required in RIO 95/98/91
pessure of the connected regulator 2,2 bar to 2,7 bar
pressure of the disconnected regulator 3,0 bar to 3,5 bar

The car is 900kg (2000lb) I think, lighter than a crx and I did a 14.2 quarter @ 106mph- traction! I want to do 12's realistically.

very cool!

i'd guess you want to stay at 7.5:1 compression if you're going to run that much boost. can you run higher octane race gas or do you want to use regular petrol?

some of the race engine builders on here need to check this out. that looks like an excellent platform to start with.

are you installing 86mm forged pistons?

Yeah I think I will need forged pistons. the standard comp. is 9.0:1, can I run 20 psi with this if the engine has steel rods? I would still like to run quite high comp to reduce the lag
The current thinking in europe is 5.5 bar fuel pressure! , 7.5:1 comp and 1.5 bar with 2 bar overboost - internal wg

I can get hold of avgas from my friend at the airport and also there is 103 octane face gas available

2 bar and internal WG Doesnt sound fun, but I'm sure could work. Somehow. . . cool setup though

What I meant was people are using 2bar with an internal wg, but I will be using an external

You can run higher compression just retard your ignition like 2* per psi at first before you fully tune your fuel maps. When you get your fuel maps close to being done watch your EGT's while you advance the ignition. Don't forget to watch your AFR because your ignition sometimes can alter the readings there too, but not by much. It just takes more work and quite a bit longer to tune with higher compression. You kind of have to upgrade your ignition for it too. It will have a miss or two when it revs up into boost otherwise. To keep it even safer use alcohol injectio to raise the octane of the fuel, and to cool down the burn in the cylinders. You won't regret it when it' fully tuned. Spool up is not an issue for higher compression.

edit: I just checked out that DTA unit. Very nice box. How much was it?

I dont know about over there but in america that would be one hell of a sleeper. Nobody would expect it to be fast.

Upon further inspection that engine seems closer to being a SR20. Is the block iron or aluminum?

You could run 12.7-12.6s all day with that trap. Put some 22 inch slicks on it and have at it.
That is a cool little car!

What sort of fuel pressure would I be looking to run? The kits over here are:
4 bar for the 315 flywheel bhp kit
5.5 bar for the 370 kit!!!

Is this crazy? I know someone with an audi S2 running 600bhp on racegas and uses the standard fpr.

If you get bigger injectors, you don't need to up the fuel pressure......really you want to touch fuel pressure as little as possible (from my experiences).....right now I'm running 450cc injectors and had to turn the fuel pressure up to 50 psi just to keep duty cycle under 85%.....
That Audi S2 prolly just got bigger injectors sized for his/her application so they didn't mess with fuel pressure...
