Default t3 vs t4

just a quick question on compressor ar's. How much of a difference is there between a t3 with a compressor ar of .60 vs a t4 with a compressor ar of the same size? I know we're talking volume, but how and why is there such a difference? thanks

The t4 exhaust housing tends to be a little more laggy then the t3 does

How much more volume does the t4 push out than a t3? Cuz like I said, both having the same compressor ar of .60, how can a t4 generate so much more power?

Dude, That has got to be one of the best explanations I've had here on a long time! Thanks man!!

One more thing though, would it be plausible to put in a compressor blade from a t4 in a t3 housing or would it create too much heat? Moreover, would it be possible to stick in a different wheel and keep my current housing? Thanks again man!

It's possible to fit larger wheels in the smaller housings. Depending on the dimensions you may have to get the compressor housing machined, and maybe the back plate, to fit the larger wheel. As far as how efficient this will be, I'm sure it will be fine to a certain point. But what that point is I don't know. My personal rule of thumb was stay in the T# familly. Talk to a turbo shop. You also have the option of replacing the wheel, housing, and back plate with the T4.

How much bigger is a t4 housing than a t3? Mine in particular is pretty big and my both my friends with a t3/t4 said it's about the same size.

I only ask cuz mine is a fairly large t3. when compared to the t4 that comes in the drag kit, it's quite similar in size. Anyway, it's more of a space issure. How easy is it to change out the cold side of the turbo?
