Because basically 95% of all turbos are classified as a T3/T4.
Example:
T3/T4 .48 trim
T3/T4 .57 trim
T3/T4 .63 trim
T3/T4 60-1
T3/T4 62-1

And it also depends on what motor it's on...

I think the T4 compressor is a bit large for you. Maybe a T3 or a GT28 would be good for ya.

Here are some questions to answer for us before we can make any kind of guess at what you want/need.

1. What engine?
2. What are your goals?
3. What do you plan to use it for (strip/street/autoX)
4. What is your budget?
5. What does the rest of your setup look like?
6. What kind of powerband do you want? (ties into #3)

After you answer those, we can give you a pretty good idea of what to recommend.

really depends on if you are looking for quality parts, a used quality turbo kit can run you into the price you are looking to spend

and a pieced together quality kit can also run you into the same ammount of money.

so really its either or, but with a pieced together kit you can pick and choose different parts that a kit wouldnt come with.

but IMO full race makes the best kits that are available period be it stage 1,2,3,4,ect

get a t25 or straight t3, a t3/t4 is way to big for your goals

Get a 14b, smic, DSM440s, DSM bov, oil line kit, HF manifold and adapter plate, SAFC, and connect it to your stock exhaust. There is more to it, but thats a good start.

Yeah turbo is nice for a little extra kick, but for 50 extra ponies? You might want to look into nitrous if you only want any extra 35-50hp.......Just a thought!

you're looking at a possible 100whp gain....most people stay around the 220whp range on stock D's

you will regret going turbo with having that much of a limited budget. Something WILL break or go wrong and you dont sound like you can afford that.

If you want to spool at around 3k-3.5k with a B18b with stock and make ~200-220whp one should go for a GT28 turbo?

you dont need a BB turbo to spool fast...especially not for that low power goal. You could find plenty of cheaper journal bearing turbos that would spool in that same range and make that power.

My GT3255 should see full boost by 3-3200 rpm and on 11psi, make around 320whp....its journal bearing....you draw your own conclusions

uhhh ok good for you but that has no relevance to the topic.

Just pick up a t25/14b from an eclipse or a straight t3 from a volvo mate it to an HF manifold w/ adapter plate and you are on your way, just make sure you have some extra funds like previously stated because something will break, there is no question...
