Default t3/t4 or gt35?

Alright im pretty much just looking for opinions on which turbo would be best for my goals. I have a b16a bored 10 over with 8.5:1 je pistons with eagle h beam rods and nuformz block gaurd. the head is stock for right now. i have a t3/t4 50 trim. im trying to reach 400hp. therefore would you think the t3/t4 would be better or should i upgrade to a gt35 which would take probably half the psi to reach but would take longer to spool?

The SC61 and GT35 journal bearing are similar. Are you trying to reach these goals on pump or race gas? You do realize that due to your displacement and compression that this turbo will have very little powerband at all, and will come on like a light switch? Have you investigated OTHER options?

WIth that setup, you could get a GT30 to hit 400whp, but spool FAR sooner. Evans Tuning actually did a large-turbine GT30 (forgot what variant) against a GT35R - same HP, but faster spool by 500rpm. Even a GT2871R could make 400whp (read up on Tony the Tiger) with a good motor and lots of boost.

The SC61 will spool like old people f***, but be relatively cheap.

If you have money to burn, the GT35R is a better choice, but overall, a GT30x would do you much better.

with a turbo like that me personally would run a b16 trans, and build the head pretty well, rev it to like 9000-9500 so when you shift you still get good transient response and wont fall out of your limited powerband. not much else you can do with a large turbo a small displacement motor that is peaky to begin with.

a 57 trim can hit that power goal, or a gt30r would be a much better choice than a gt35.
