Default T3, T3/T4, etc...

Ok which one of these turbos would give the best overall driveablity? I'm looking for the least lag but something that doesn't fall on it's face higher up. I've seen some guys using T25's but they seem a little small. Does the t3/t4 work pretty good or too much lag? How about a T04? Sorry for all the questions. I'm beginning to think the T3 would be my best bet but I'm still undecided. What cars did the t3 come factory on?

the t/3 would be your best bet if you are looking for as little lag as possible, and as for your second question, i have no clue

What kind of car? What are you goals? Give a little more info..It's hard to give you specifics without knowing what it is you're looking to get out of all this.

Go here: http://thenew.gamesbbs.com/~turbosi/

Click on Junkyard turbos on the left frame. That will show all cars that have t3's (that I could find). I stole most of the list from some people on this board. Don't remember who? Sonny?

Enjoy.

What would a good trim be for his second application?

OK, I will post an opinion.

Ideal for lowest spool and best efficiency: T3/T04E 52 trim
Lowest spool, poor high rpm efficiency: T25 ~45 trim
Slightly higher spool, good high rpm efficiency: T3 60 trim (good luck).
Long spool, great efficincy at high rpm: T04 or bigger, any trim.

Perfect combination of spool and boost: GT30R ball-bearing turbo 57 trim.

Any arguments?

Sorry, I realized this after I posted by for some reason I'm limited to 5 posts a day! It's for a 87 CRX. I'm looking for streetable high 13's on street tires. I guess I'm really looking for about 250 hp or so.

When will I be able to post more than 5 times a day?!?! This is starting to suck ***!

I said good luck since they are extremely rare. They are only found on 85-86 Ford T-bird 5 speeds and a few Mustangs. Not on the autos. You can buy them new, but the t3/t04E is the same price. If you find some at a junkyard, e-mail me, I'll even take blown ones. No auto ones though, they are only 45 trim. might as well get a t25.

I've got a T3/T4 with .63 A/R and .57 Trim on my D16Z6 and it takes forever to spool! I hit full boost around 5,000 RPM but when it hits, it hits hard. It works out though because unless I am trying to hit boost I won't which improves my gas mileage. I am going to get it retrimed soon though. I'm going to a .57 A/R and .53 trim so it will spool around 3,200 RPM. I'm not sure what your application is but for a D series engine, I would say go with a T3/T4 with .57 A/R and .53 trim.

ah i c. i got one... it has noticeable shaft play though. I'm considering rebuilding it but i was going to upgrade to a t3/t04b soon anyway so i dunno if i should bother wasting the money on it.

Would this be worthwhile on a 87 CRX? I think I can get one. Would I be better off with just a T3 off of something else? With a smaller trim I mean.
