Default T25 turbo question

Ok I might be getting a T25 Garrett turbo and right now i'm running a D16Z6 95 Si and I got a cam gear/shaft and exhaust. I was wondering what type of performance I could expect to get if I intercooled this turbo and possibly retained my A/C???

I'm new to turbos but I know cars fairly well...Plz no flaming I know you HT guys are known for having some of the greatest flamers in the online import world.

nobodys responding cause it is such a basic question. Please research some cause these types of topics have been covered many times.

Its also hard to give you some numbers, we don't know if you plan to stay stock block, how much psi do you plan to run, what kind of engine management do you plan to run, all these factors and others play a big roll in how well your car will perform turboed.

If I can throw out basic numbers, some may flame me cause they can do better/worse but whatever, its juat a ballpark figure, you would get about 188 hp to the wheels, somewhere around 165ish tourqe around 7psi. Stock block d16 you probably shouldn't go any higher psi.

That little turbo will spool up very quickly so lots of down low tq!!

Please tell me what your turbo came off of, or if you know the a/r of the turbine exhaust housings and trims of the wheels. This will help me judge what you might be getting, or if you should use this turbo. Mike1114 had some good ballpark figures. Also, you do realize it will take more than a turbo to get this running? Picking a turbo is the easiest part. PM me if you have any specific questions regarding a T25 install. You may want to search for archived topics I created.

I'm getting ready to pull close to 200whp or more. With the t25 that I'm using. It'll be running at 10psi. But then I'm using a wideband to tune and uberdata as my fuel management. Just thought I'd give you some numbers.

I had the same engine, managment and a t25 at 10psi. it definatly sucked compared to the 50 trim T3 I have now. The t25 does not compliment the natural power band of your engine at all IMO. It will make lots of power early then feels like it just runs out of breath past 5-6k. my t3 feels the same as far as spool up and low end but the power doesn't taper off, it just keeps building to 7300. I have WAY more area under the curve at 10 psi now. I can hang with most 600cc street bikes from a roll. Im positive that would not happen with the T25 I had.

If I had my druthers, I'd go with a T3 setup, as it is a cakewalk compared to doing a T25 setup. However, a T25 can make serious power, so long as it is properly sized. We need more information about your turbo. No-one can make judgements, as we do not know the a/r of your turbine housing, which IMO, is the most imporatant thing in sizing a turbo...O.K. well compressor trim is also very important. Not all T25s are the same.

Correct about the turbine housing and wheel sizing, it is definatly the most important factor especially when your picking from stock turbo car turbos. I used a nissan t25 of some sort my first setup so your right, JalopySiR it might not be comparing apples to apples

No matter what size t25 you have I still think the t3 standard turbine wheel with a .63 A/R housing is ideal on a D16Z6 making between 170-270whp. I am making 10-11psi at 2800 in 4th with this turbine and a 50trim compressor.

Well I found another guy who's gonna help me put together a decent kit for around 2000 with all new parts. It will definately be a T3 for sure.
