Default t25 t3/t4 what's the difference?

I'm currently prepping the block for a turbo job.
d16a6, eagle rods and forged pistons.
Still a ways away from getting the turbo.
What's the turbo that will help me make a reliable 225-250hp to the wheels?
I know that the t3t4 is a hybrid turbo, but what the hell is a t25. all I
know about them is that they came on the eagle talons and mitsu eclipse.
Good for up to 10lbs of boost, and then they loose their efficiency? Will
the t25 suffice? Don't want to run more than 13 lbs of boost. Motor is a
d16a with ported head with a gude cam. am I far off the mark or can this
combo make me the power?

A T3 is an american market turbocharger. A T25 is a japanese market turbocharger. The turbine is about the only difference when it comes to differences in the aftermarket. Turbonetics sells T3 and T3/T4 hybrids. They also T4 and the larger turbos which will never work on a 4 cyl honda.

HKS sells T25, T04 and SPL turbos. The T25 will flow the same it not outflow the T3/T4 hybrids. However, they are much more expensive. The HKS turbos come with dual Stainless steel ball bearings. They also all use a dynamic seal. Most of their high hp turbos also use an external wastegate only charger. This means the turbine's outlet is exactly on center for the best flow.

The Turbonetics turbos use a ceramic ball bearing on the compressor side and a regular bushing/sleeve bearing on the exhaust side. The T3 and the T3/T4 use a ofset outlet which reduces flow to an extent to make room for the internal wastegate.

A typical T3/T4 w/CBB and super 60 housing will run you about 1500-1700 where as an HKS T25 3037S is about 2200-2700.

The HKS turbos are the best I've ever seen. I have heard of guys having problems with their greddy single turbos on the supra but never the HKS.

The HKS SPL for the supra will make over 900 RWHP. Which is well over 1000 at the flywheel.

HKS does make a manifold for the b-series engines that mates to a T-25. However they do also provide a T25-T3 adaptor to use a T3.

some t3/t4's come with "room" for an internal wastegate(the little circle/hole in the flange.) but most who run a t3/t4 run an external wg.
a t25 is much smaller than a t3/t4 and will will NOT make power till redline on a b16

you mean it will stop making power before redline, correct? the way you stated it made it sound like it doesnt spool till redline

Whoa, this thread is messed up.

Simple. T25's are small and cheap. They spool seriously fast and drop off after 5500rpm on your D16a6. They are really only good from 7 psi to 12 psi, after that they are really inefficient.

Your best bet is a t3 60 trim. it will spool later, but should handle the low redline of the D16a6.

Check my site if you want. I run the t25 on my d16a6 right now.
