my buddys got a stock GS-R in his EG hatch, he put a T25 DSM turbo on it about 6 months ago. for about a month now its been making a weird humming/squeeling noise when the turbo spools and goes away when hes not on the gas. its definately comin from the turbo. the noise has totally gotten louder over the past month. can anyone give some input as to what this could be?

 

Its hard to say without hearing it directly. Can you make a sound clip?

 

yeah the turbos probably shot and wheels are rubbing on the housing. check it for shaft play.

who puts a t25 on a GSR anyways, that must be lame as hell to drive.

ya i told him to check it for shaft play.. hes a pretty lazy kid, itll prolly be me checkin it out. and as for it being lame, well it aint nuthin to brag about but it went OK, he went to a local shop and pretty much said i want to be turboed. didnt know anything about it an got a$$ raped. lol. and now to top it all off it sounds like his turbos shot. ouch. but thats what u get when u have money an no knowledge and want something now, now, NOW.
