!!!!!T1 Race Development Turbine Blanket!!!!
I just purchased a blanket from Tony I liked it alot but I didnt think about fitment for an issue. I want to use it on my car but unsure if its to close to my manifold.
Heres a link for the blanket in question
http://www.t1raceparts.com/Tur...t.htm
Is it safe to lay that material on the actual manifold or does it need clearance away. My turbo is oil and water cooled so its going to be a snug fit either way. but since i have my turbo on a slight angle because my power steering i would now have to lay the blanket directly onto the runners.
Will it melt up or can it withstand direct heat contact ?
btw it looks good can you guys post pics of your turbo blankets i liked them even if i wont be able to use mine

yeah i seen that but even if i get it to fits going to be 100 percent on the manifold so is it going to melt or burn up

this is the best pic i have, the back of the blanket is touching the last two runners fully. its a very tight fit as you can see. the runners that it does touch are wrapped with header tape as well.
i love the blanket, keeps a ton of heat out of the bay and saves the paint on my hood.

The blankets are designed to fit tight around the turbo, but are still very flexible. The T4 blanket fits T3 and T4 and they can sit right on the manifold with no problems. The manifold doesn't really get any hotter than the turbine housing. These make a HUGE difference in the amount of radiant heat from the turbine!

I LOVED this blanket when I was able to use it. Works great.
Unfortunately I can no longer fit it between my housing and my wastegate though so I had to sell it.

... thats NO bullshit... these things make a WORLD of difference.
Just got mine last week from t1, and WOW... its night and day. I was worried about fitment myself since i dont have alot of room between the radiator and the turbine housing. Fits perfect, very snug... pictures make it look oversized but its well fitted to my precision turbo that uses a t3 housing.
I kid you not you can touch the bag after 10 minutes of driving it after fully warmed up and it will not burn you. Now I dont recommend anyone try it without a IR temp gun or something to check it first but to the touch it was only warm for me after cruising for 10 minutes on the highway with egts in the 900-1000 degree range. It was a night and day difference.
Underhood temps where WAY down, great product. Worth the money for sure.

Re: (hyabusa hunter)
i dont see why not, mine has provisions to wire it together so it wouldnt fall off in a bottom mount application.
as stated above i can put my hand on this thing after a cruising around
