Question about divided turbo housing on non-divided manifold

Hello guys,
I'm from Holland and I'm in the process of switching from a 14b to a big 16G. Is it possible to use a turbo with a divided housing on a non divided manifold? Will there be any consequences?

I thought it wouldn't harm anything and I found an article on the internet, were was said: "While it does not cause any problems or harm to run a divided inlet turbine housing on a manifold that is an "open" design, none of the benefits of the twin inlet will be seen

It changes your effective a/r ratio, reducing spool.
You're talking about the evo 16g, right? I didn't think you could bolt a twinscroll evo turbo up to a single scroll 14b/single scroll 16g manifold, the twinscroll ports aren't even close to the same dimensions as the single entry. ?
Am I misremembering this?
