Default synthetic oil in boost applications????

Is it safe to convert to Synthetic oil on a turbo d series after previously using non-synthetic? i know its safe it a N/A car this is my first turbo so i want to make sure its safe for the turbo itself. please LMK asap so i can change it! Thanks

Yes it is safe to do so. Ive been running SuperSyn on mine for over 2 moths and the oil level is the same. I even over filled it when I put the oil in just touching the second line and the oil is still there.

I wouldnt be concerned with the type of oil...Just make sure you use the right weight vs. range. read this link then chose you multi grade how you see fit. too light and it squeezes through you turbo seals, too heavy and you'll burn oil.

you only run that in the summer though right? I imagine it would get a little too cold for that in the winter.

Wow that article was simply amazing. I learned more than I ever thoguht I could know about oil. Thanks for posting this.

It looks like AMSOIL really is everything everyone is making it out to be....a superior synthetic oil.

I've been using Castol High Mileage oil 10w30......works like a charm. Never have to top up the oil. No burnoff.
