Check around in Google. Fortunately (or unfortunately) its there. But you're opening up a whole can of worms here... let's just end it, shall we? For the sake of a good thread.

This thread is not a war between Tial and Synapse.

Please keep your comments to yourself if you dont have any experience with Synapse Wastegate.

I'm looking for actual experiences from people who use them or used them. Shops are welcome to come in and tell their experience.

Never assume that my comments are posted without cause. I was a distributor for them at one time for their products, nor did I even ATTEMPT to create such a correlation or discussion. Please relax, ok? There are plenty of experiences on Synape's website, so you may want to check there as well with their Hondas.

Enjoy. ;-)

They are big and bulky, personally I much would much rather use a tial MVS and an MBC than the synapse. they seem to hold pressure ok though

go read their forum for a little while and you will see why nobody over here runs them. seems about 98% of them have issues.

i cant speak from personal experience though as i have never used one....dont plan on it either.

Cool. I was just thinking about them since I want to run a big wastegate. I've run tial and turbosmart wastegates only. I love them both.

I was playing with one the other day on a drift car with a PWM setup and spent hours trying to get it to work. To say the least I was extremely pissed after about 3 hours of messing with it. The customer had a ebay knock off tial laying on a shelf so we thru it on and I got the boost controller setup in about 5 minutes. Did I mention I was pissed? I got the burns to prove it

i personally have one and have had no problems with it what so ever. Just be sure to read the directions like 50 times as there are so many damn ports and hooking vacuum sources to them change the way it reacts to boost pressures. Using PWM boost control as well and works just fine.

There are many that work without an issue. I never said that they didn't, but not only was I sick of the inconsistency of the way they were put together, I was just sick of all of the technical support phone calls and e-mails about getting the damn things to work that I received. I was also tired of having several of them destroy themselves due to their questionable use of materials, and the only thing Synapse would do is replace the unit entirely. This was after a barrage of phone calls back and forth with Synaose. This is fine until you get back to my first point of being overly complicated to use. TiAL was just easier to use and better constructed.

Damn DSM guys would come in with destroyed units for weeks on end. I'll save the pictures for another day.

Which has nothing to do with anything.

There was a thread about someone doing a pressure test on a wastegate, and found it to be leaking nearly everywhere.

have used their 40mm and 50mm wastegate. Yes, it is very complicated because of multiple ports but once you get it dialed-in pretty decent wastegate. Had/Have no kind of problems at all.
