symptoms of bad o2 sensor or map sensor?

just wondering if there are ways to tell if the map sensor or o2 sensor is goin bad...

If you map sensor went bad, the motor would run like it was on 2 cycl. and wouldnt rev past 4000.

i could still rev past 4000 so i guess its fine. even with the missing link, i would still be able to pop a CEL right?
