switching to ram horn, how much gain?
I know this is a shot in the air, but I was just curious as to what everyone thinks.
I'm currently running this not so good flowing manifold: (insides of the runners where the collector is very rough and the fabricator did a poor job on it. Got it for cheap when I needed one bad though).
and I just purchased a ram horn from tunertoys.com. What does everyone think i'll gain in power? I'm pushing about 10 psi on a stock gsr (mid sized turbo).
Has anyone seen huge improvements after switching to a ram horn? I saw a few posts after searching of people gaining 60 wheelhp!?!
I'm hoping for atleast 20whp increase from the crappy mani to the high flowing ram horn. What do you all think?

I'd say between 1-500hp.
Seriously, probably about 20ish, depending on how much power you are making now. Make sure you get a dump tube for your wastegate and you'll pick up even more.

Another thing that will help soooooo much is get rid of the deltacreep wastegate and get a tial. I noticed so much when I switched smother pulls and no boost creep.

This is a nice little video fromEvans-Tuning.com. Log vs. Full-Race Equal length. I thought it might be appropriate. enjoy

spent exhaust gasses flowing around your engine bay are probably hurting you as much as the manifold itself. get a dump tube.

Bad manifold, bad wastegate, small diameter downpipe and probably small exhaust.. all these are limiting you. But the turbo is also small so i doubt you are going for high HP. I dont see a ramhorn being worth it with such a small turbo.

Man U FTW
there are a lot of variables, but i can say without a doubt that it will help...the best way to find out is by getting it dynoed...as if that wasn't obvious...
great vid btw

That's a bad *** vid
Was the car tuned for ramhorn? or log mani? Not sure how much this information can change the comparision...

Very Very observant user here!
I thought i was the only one who caught that a while back.
Also i remember a post from some people saying how NOT running a dumptube kills power as it is drawn back in and heat soaking the engine area and whatnot, this is common sense........................SO was the power gained from the manifold or was it gained from the dumptube???? or the lack of a dumptube killing power on the log set up.
I switched to a ramhorn from a DRAG log manifold and it showed very minimal power gains at the time, i was actually not impressed for the price i paid for the manifold. i would have chosen to do other upgrades instead at the time

I think with the fans that jeff has it is not as big of a concern as if the car was on the dyno without the fans. . .
