Swain Technology Coated Pistons
From past threads I have seen some of you guys asking for pictures of SwainTech coated pistons. So here are some pictures of my new 88mm CP pistons that received a top gold coat and pc9 coat on the side skirts. For more info, you can check out the site at http://www.swaintech.com/race.html
From recent calculations, if yellow graphics make a car fast... I am led to believe a yellow topped pistons should produce another 200 to the wheels at least

Re: Swain Technology Coated Pistons (GudeH23a)
Your pistons look like bumble bees!!! Looks really nice. Only if cylinder heads were clear... I know that the coating on the skirt is to prevent friction, but what exactly does the yellow/gold piston domes do?

Re: (twkdCD595)
The coatings run 180 for 4 pistons. The car has been tuned on the old set up and put out 340whp at 14psi. The turbo will be replaced soon, i should be in the 400s soon.

Cool pics
They have the same top coating available in stock appearing (Silver) for some stealth. Good coater, I just wish their exhaust manifold coatings were some other color than white.

Re: Swain Technology Coated Pistons (drvfast)
top coating reduces detonation...more like takes some of the brunt of detonation. i had my pistons coated at hpc coatings..it was cheaper, diff colors but they work.

Re: Swain Technology Coated Pistons (int3gra)
charlie, i believe it was 120 when i had them coated. its worth the price wether u choose swain , hpc, polydyne.whatever.
i believe the porcelain actually lasts as long as the motor will. no sense in spraying somethin that would just disentegrate.
