supertech pistons and stock rods for low boost
sup . i have a stock b18c5 that i am rebuilding. i have a few questions. i plan on boosting it with a 50 trim at 7 psi so it shouldnt make any more than 250-260 whp.
- i looked into prices of oem honda pistons ( $250 with rings ) and for $70 more , i can get supertech pistons at 10.1 compression.
- will supertech pistons and stock R rods handle under 300 whp safely and reliably ?
- supertech pistons should be able to fit on stock R rods easily by the machine shop ?
thanks

I know it might not be what you want to do, but whilst your at this stage your much better off buying a set of rods to. You might be planing for 250whp but i can guaranty you you'll want more for what ever reason. Just think how cheap a set of Eagle rods are really... It just makes more sense to me... Have a think about it.
They seem like a good solid piston to me, + they have a low expansion rate so you can run a tighter piston to wall clearance than most forged pistons.
Yep, I'll be running about .0028 PTWC with these. That's right at about their minimum specified for my piston. They said at my lower level of boost, that this spec would be fine
