Default Supercharger question....

My friend has 2 eaton M90's that came off his ford supercoupe. They are the roots kind. I can get one super cheap

I was wondering if i fabbed up my own intake manifold and also made a pulley system for it.. would it work???

I was playing with it last night and it clicked it that those motors spin clockwise... I turned the blower counter clockwise and it sucked air. Would there be a way to reverse it???

anyone ever do this?

There is a guy in the process of doing this I think...his name is RMCdaniels I think. He posts frequently in the " What JRSC setup are you running" Thread that is like 260+ pages long.

He gave it to a guy named t-bird who deals in fords, but the guy apparently bailed out on him. It's not cheap or easy to do.

Yeah, t-bird disappeared with my M90. The main problem is that an M90 spins CW, while the JRSC M62 spins CCW. It's relatively easy to reverse the rotation on an M62 or M45, you just need a special jig to press the rotors off of their shafts and reverse them and the nose assembly. Tha M90 has an assymetrical case though, so the rotors can be reversed, but to reverse the nose assembly you'd need to weld extra material into the case, then tap holes for the locator pins and bolts to secure the nose assembly to the case. The new holes would need to be very precisely placed, a few thousandths off and the blower will bind, destroying it. Then you'd have to either fabricate an Endyn-styly box manifold or make an adapter plate for the JR manifold, which might get you into some clearance issues.

I don't see any cheap options for this, porting an M62 only gets you so much, and it isn't cheap. The custom fabrication to convert an M90 wouldn't be cheap either, and it would be tough to get it right. Eaton has said they will make one of their new TVS blowers that will be a direct replacement for the CCW M62, but say it won't be ready until Q3, and I'd be surprised if they are available this year. The only other thing that I may try is converting a Whipple 1400AX for CCW operation, but I need to talk to Ed Martinez at PSE about converting one, and I'll probably have to buy a new one for >$1500, then pay Ed to convert it, and he doesn't work cheap.
