NOPE you can throw on the stock JRSC kit at 6psi and run it all day every day with no problems!
If you want to up the boost you'd need some bigger injectors and something to tune them with though.. but with that you could again.. run it all day every day with no probs

Re: supercharger or no (B18_Hatch)
The WHP is in my signature with only 6 psi and the best time i have run so far is 13.8 with full interior and stereo system in my car on Kumho street tires.
I love my supercharger and I doubt I would ever change it due to the fact that it is extremely reliable for daily driving.
As for the guys that say "go turbo", half of those newbs don't have turbos and are running stock cars. Go with what you want and what you can afford and how you are really going to use your car. I have used my car for many autocrosses and quite a number of times at the drag strip and I am extremely happy with my current setup.

yeah, it is really a very VERY reliable setup!
I hear about so many things going wrong with turbo setups,
blowing motors due to overboosting, detonation, etc.
throwing rods cuz your motor just cant hang with it.
blowing headgasket after headgasket after headskater for no good reason aside from the boost.
and you know what.. the only problems I hear from JRSC's is trying to figure out how
to get a used kit installed on some motor that it wasnt meant for.
or belt slippage (for which theres always a reason and remedy).
People get freaked out cuz they're un-intercooled.. but honestly.. given equal boost levels, that may give you a bit more detonation.. and detonation is something you can control, more fuel, timing, etc.
Not to mention at the stock boost levels you can run the stock fuel setup forever and never worry.(all it is is a 5:1 fmu and a IAT hack and it works flawlessly).
Basically it's like this, when things go awry on a turbo setup, you can see uncrontrolled boost spikes and overboosting.. it happens once briefly, and you're engine is toast.
when things go wrong with a JRSC there is NO WAY to overboost!
you can only loose boost, which won't harm anything.
P.S. you CAN intercool your jrsc for alittle under a grand, and it's a sweet kit.
the makers are going into larger production and dropping the pricegreatly soon also!

Re: supercharger or no (Blue-Civic-Hybrid)
What the highest compression ratio you would apply a supercharger kit to. I have 12.4 to 1 and dont wanna risk the charger on my set up but my buddy is running 11.1 to 1 and was also thinking about the JRSC kit. You think 11.1 would be cool with 6PSI? what about the 8 pound pully? Just wanted your guys thoughts

Tuning would have the greatest effect on how your engine reacted but you aren't going to get the benefit of a quicker spool like you would on a turbo, and your aren't going to have an intercooler, so your IAT's will be pretty high, which will just make the detonation risk higher.
