Default Supercharger cooling?

FI creates heat. You can intercool a turbo. What can i do for a JRSC? Water injection sounded cool (lowers temp 70-100 degrees), untill someone said it can make your blades look like someone threw sand at them Is heatsoak in slow daily driving un-avoidable?? I planned on getting an aftermarket radiator and the JRSC comes with a 160 degree thermostat (throw in a bottle of watter wetter for good measure). Someone mentioned colder plugs. I'm gonna have to read up on how plugs can be "colder." Maybe a boost timing controler also. Any other options or opinions on what works well? Thank

C'mon guys i know cooling isn't as fun as talking about boosting my daily driver to 24 PSI but it's still important.

OK, that makes more sense. I've never seen a pic of it installed on a car, it was always seperate, even on jackson's website.

I am pretty sure it sprays prior to the charger not after.

the unit JR sells injects water after the supercharger, into the intake manifold.

Radiator and thermostat keeps the engine from overheating. That's not the problem with JRSC. The problem with the supercharger is that the air charge gets hot, and this leads to greater likelyhood of detonation, and less power. You have to cool down the air charge, not the engine. You need an intercooler for that, or ghetto methods like water injection, nitrous, and I even heard of alcohol injection.

Our Heatshield gasket - although not yet available for the LS (about 8 weeks away)
http://www.hondata.com/heatshield.html

Quote from user:
Here are some preliminary results using a scantool and the IAT sensor mounted on the back of the JR (supercharger) intake manifold...
Before the intake heatshield gasket and coolant bypass, the intake manifold temp at idle was around 130F and approx. 185F during 7psi boost @ approx. 6500 rpm. The outside temp was around 75F.
After the mods, idle temp is now 106F, cruise temp at 4000 rpm in third gear is 119F, and 7psi boost @ approx. 6600rpm is now 131F! However, the outside temp is also cooler at 45-50F. I'm waiting for a warmer day to conduct the test again. One thing that's very noticeable is the surface temp of the intake manifold comparing to the cylinder head. It's MUCH cooler to the touch.

Damn, you beat me to it Hondata!

As far as aquamist, it sprays a fine mist and that evapirates before it can do any harm. cools air down slightly and I even heard it steam cleans the engine... haha! might be worth it just for the steam cleaning.

If you wanna go all out, Hondata Gasket, JR Water Injection, AEM CAI, and those Thermo Wraps cuz the intake piping gets pretty hot too.

Have you guys seen this device? It's a C02 Intercooler... I've been thinking about picking it up and trying to adapt it to suit my needs but i don't know.

What material are those gaskets made of? I will have to make myself a custom one since we all know that no aftermarket company will make one for my engine!

"FuzzyGreenCarpets" It's some type of plastic that is a cloudy white color. The gasket is like .125" to .187 thick not possitive on the exact measurement. I've heard it is very hard to melt or burn.

As for cooling the JRSC the only method worth while is NOS!!! Water injection works but the gains are minimal because it isn't an effeciant way of cooling. You can only get so much air and gas into your engine. If you start to add water to the mix well thats less air and gas that there is to burn and that result is less horsepower.

NOS on the other hand cools more effeciantly and adds more oxygen to the mix. All you do is add more fuel and the intake temps go way down and horsepower goes way up.

Most of those types of gaskets are made from "Phenolic". There are a number of different grades in all different colors.

For about $60 that heatshield gasket looks promissing.
