Default Supercharger?

I have a stock 98spec JDM ITR motor/tranny with low milage in my GSR, and i was wondering if a JRSC kit at 10-11psi would be a good setup without building the motor really. If you have any other ideas id like to hear them.

Go for it, I think you will like it a lot.... and while you're at it, get Hondata and you'll be set....

isn't 10-11psi a little high for a JRSC? I thought they lost most of their effeciency after 8psi and heard the charge becomes hot enough to where the extra boost isn't beneficial. It could all be BS, but that's what I heard.

The eaton blowers lose their efficency at 10psi and above. When I was first researching FI that was one of the first things I found out. The air just gets too hot.

I recently drove a friends 98 ITR with a JRSC running the standard boost on a stock motor with heavy 18's, and I was impressed. They say supercharged cars feel like they have a larger motor and they're right. It felt like a strong V6. I'm sure it would have felt much better without the 18's. He has raced a turbo'd ITR running the same boost and lost so...

You won't have to build the motor for 10-11 psi. All you will need is some new injectors, fuel pump, and some good fuel/timing management. You have a lot of options for that. This is the best place to search and learn.

You will find that most guys here recommend turbo over supercharging. It all depends on what kind of power you want. A turbo will produce a lot higher peak HP. This is great for straight line dragstrip acceleration. The jrsc will give you more low end torque. This is better for autocross where you are constantly turning and dropping into lower RPMs. You can eliminate "turbo lag" with a smaller, quicker spooling turbo, but it won't produce the really high peak HP of larger turbos. This issue has been discussed about a thousand times here. Use the "search" function.

The 'forced induction integra" forum on hostboard.com is where the jrsc fans hang out.

After using a greddy turbo kit on my teg, I'm not really impressed with how long it takes to spool up. Its suppose to be a small turbo and spool at 3k. I didn't get spool until 4k+, too laggy for me.

Gonna try a supercharger now.

MachAF, I assume you had the 18G kit on your Teg? I'm seriously thinking of getting the 15G kit for my B16. I only want to run 8-10psi max anyway, so what's the point of the big 18G? I'd consider getting the supercharger, but I want to be able to use an intercooler.
