Re: supercharged b20 (crxjarred)
ok so i read that they are still bringen up the fact that the b20 has then walls but is a torqe monster what would be better to go turbo b20 forged internals or SC b20 with forget internals on like 10 lbs i also read that vtec is usless with a SC is this so? thanks alot

Re: supercharged b20 (ITR-EKcoupe)
Vtec isn't useless, its just that you normally set it far lower than normal. The problem is the SC itself. If its a JRSC, then you'll have slower response than a B18, and it will also run out of breath faster (regarding both psi and rpm). If its a centrifugal-style like a rotrex, it will be a torquey for an NA B down low, then build power as it slowly builds boost (psi is rpm-based).
Given that a maxed-out JRSC with an aftercooler on a worked GSR will get you 300whp and some change, you'd be far better off with turbo. A smaller turbo (60trim T3, GT28R) would get you response closer to the JRSC, while a larger (57trim t3/t04e) would flatten the torque curve as the higher rpm enters the higher-efficiency islands of that turbo.
The main problem is the B20 sleeves. They are a one-peice design, and are less resilient due to cracking near the connecting points, as well as being thinner. Some people have made decent power with them, but in the same sense, there has also been 560whp BONE STOCK B16. Really pushing B20 sleeves is a big gamble...
