Super Charged RC truck
K. That toy costs more than my car. And is WAAAAYY cooler!!
Man, I should really do something about that.
But seriously I had never seen that. Very interesting.

They don't always break because they are 'toys'. The only time I ever break my little toys are when my 1/10th scale multi-link, twin solid-axle rock crawler lands sideways after a 6' high longjump and snaps a hub carrier, or when my 1/8 buggy takes off across a frozen lake at 60mph+ (WOT) and rapes a tree - only breaking one control arm. Traxxass stuff - the most commonly purchased cheap kits - are toys, but there are other brands that will take abuse.
While that things is cool, I've seen much better. The best working RC was a 1/8th scale truck with a true 4spd/1rev gear box, a working 4wd system with a transfer case, torsen diffs (think quaife), billet CNC/EDM'd wheels, miniture rack & pinion steering, and more I forgot. I've also seen an EXACT 1/10th scale replica of a late 60's ferrari. Cast V8 block, valves/cams, velocity stacks, rubber tires with OEM tread style - you name it. It took the guy something like 12-15 years to get all the specs and then have it all made up. And it ran on gasoline. But I digress.
That truck is pretty sick. I've always wanted to do a gas-powered rockcrawler, but I like saving up for real cars more now.

I used to have a couple of those. Tmaxx was the worst for durability. Teh best was the Ofna Hyper 7 1/8 buggy. that thing was a tank, and incredibley fast.
I guess some of you guys are focusing on the TMAXX and totally ignoring the super charger that is on the .28 motor. If you read the link you'll notice that all of the parts including the frame is aftermarket.

That's nice but where did I mention wanting an electric RC car/truck? GAS all the way!!

That is correct Nitrous Express now sells a dry kit talked to the guy there about it at SEMA last year they had it on a HPI 4x4 truck uses a whip cream canister (like a CO2 cartrige) he says its good for about 30 seconds and when you hit it it pulls the front wheels off the ground
I wonder if the supercharger really work on that truck. Look like the belt for the SC is nothing more than a string. Very nice truck indeed. Too bad it'll be dirty and cratch up the first time you take them out.
You want a fast gas powered car get a 1/8th scale on-road car. With the right gearing they can it between 80-85mph. My mugen MRX-3 clocked at 81mph. Theres no sound like a .21 engine screaming at 48,000 rpm's. These cars are very expensive though, just the engine was $700.
For those that have or had gas rc's, they know about how finicky those little nitro engines can be to tune. I can't imagine having to account for a supercharger on top of it all. Anyways, you don't need a supercharger when you can get .21 sized engines that make as much horsepower as your gokart when you were a kid (4+hp) and spin to 40 thousand rpms. Pulling the wheels off the ground at virtually any speed becomes a problem, not an accomplishment. BTW, the truck pictured is a Savage, not T-maxx.

yeah, no kidding. I bet its even more fuel efficient too.
I still havent rebuilt my front diff. on my Nitro MT2 from successfully doing a back flip and front flip(seperate jumps).
They are fun, but my civic is more cost effective.

I have an HPI savage. They are really fun, just a lot fo money and time to stay into it. And about that supercharger, i've read on some r/c forums that is sucks, it really isn't worth it.
For the guy lookin into a gas r/c..you want a truck or car?
