Suggestions for keeping tires down
Ok, So not only am I new to this board, but also to tuning hondas, was always a Z fan
Any way, I have a 91 Civic with some work into to it, I'll give you what I know for now. By the way a (?) means I either don't know what brand or I don't know if it was something added.
JDM B16A engine swap w/Hasport engine mounts
MSD fuel managment
vortech ignition (?)
Turbo (has HT188 on the side) (?) w/front mount intercooler
an HKS super sequential BOV
HKS engine strut
a home made MBC
NGK wires and plugs
custom turbo manifold
str adjustable cams
K&N intake
cat back exhaust
all these I don't remember what kind but the guy who built the car said they were added
clutch, shaft, injectors, ecu, coilovers camshafts, lifters and fuel rail.
Guy told me he was running 300hp @ 7psi at the crank and that it could handle 15psi easy. Well, I turned the boost up to 12psi and took it out and couldn't get the tires to grip in second, so dropped it down to 11 and it grips a little better.
(oh yeah, it has some really hard *** tires...not great for traction but not having to buy new tires every time I see a mustang or nova is kinda nice
Any ideas on how to get that power to the wheels? I have slicks for the track but would like something for the street. Is it the tires or do I just have a heavy foot? Any suggestions would be helpful.
thanks
oh yeah, I'm heading to Street Fights this thursday so I'll post the results if anyone's interested
