ok i using studs instead of bolts for my turbo mani and so i went and paid like $2.80/ea for them at acura.
anyway, before i put them in do i need to do anything (i.e. put threadlock) to the side that goes into the head, or do i just screw them in?

just run them in and make sure they are tight, use the 2 bolt trick, im sure you allready know that.

but please explain.

 

I think he means double nutting. Put two nuts on the end of the stud and tighten them together. Then use the outer nut to torque the stud in. Use the inner nut to pull them out.
