Question about exahust mani studs
Anyone on here run ARP exahust mani studs or something other thatn OEM? Mine keep breaking becuase of the heat and I really dont feel like buying 100000 of them to keep replacing them. Anyone have any ideas. I have heard ARP sells them for like 100 bucks! There has to be a cheaper route than that. Hell my headstuds were cheaper than that

Maybe the weight of the turbo (setup) is putting a little too much stress on the manifold studs?
Mine have broken before, but I think there was too much weight......so I made a brace for it.
up for answers as well.

Re: Question about exahust mani studs (5thgen)
Well most mine have broken when trying to remove the bolt (i.e. i blew the headgaket, put the wrench on the bolt and it fell off.) I knew it was a problem but its getting annoying. I have broken 5 now since I have been boosted.

Yeah I've had mine break off within the head. I had to reverse drill them out...simply put it was a bitch. I now have some bolts that I use...a little thicker steel, but same thread size. Never had a problem since. If ARP makes some go for it. I can't tell you were I got mine, they were in a junk yard, but if you go to a huge hardware outlet you'll find some nice bolts I bet.
