Default Stubborn headstud removal

Was given a GSR bare block with headstuds that were installed on the block, question is that the headstuds will not come out. Does anyone have any suggestions, don't care about the studs but would like to keep the block from damage. Thinking about a propane torch to heat up the studs and then double nut.
1. tried double nuts on the studs.
2. Vise grips.
3. over night with PB Blaster.

The problem with heat is you'll likely ruin the studs. If the previous owner used strong locktite, you'll have to heat it to the point where the stud's metal structure changes (for the worse).

I'd try an impact wrench on it, although on the LOW settings. You just need to break the locktite's bond.

They are more than likely loctite'd in and a little heat from just a propane torch should break the loctite down and do the trick. Heat the surrounding area of the stud, not the stud itself as suggested.

Heat the stud not the block.

You're not even supposed to use loctite on ARP head studs. At any rate, if you can't remove them using the allen wrench, then get a stud puller. A cam/wedge puller usually does the job.

ive used this thing before on the shank of the stud.
it works. put it in an impact.
as to breaking loose red loctite, you dont have to heat to change the properties of the stud, thats bs. a propane torch will get it hot enough to break loctite loose, and you not going to heat treat tthe stud with propane for a min or so.

Using some heat like said above should help get them loose if double nutting them wont work or have an allen key that will hold up to trying to loosen them with some force.

ARP actually says you CAN use loctite on the stud end going into the block. I called them to check as I had an issue with studs backing out of block. Its on their install sheets as a note line that it may be used in more permanent install applications if desired, BUT the studs must be torqued to spec prior to the loctite setting up. It can also be used in applications where the studs thread into a water jacket and need to be sealed.
