Default Strength of Earls Stainless Steel braided lines?

I have my Earls stainless steel oil return line touching my downpipe. Will the line hold up to the extreme temp's of the downpipe.

"I heard"..that it would take a torch to go through the lines and it wouldn't be any problems with it touching the down pipe.

Advice Please...

Do not let it touch the downpipe. Its made to hold pressure, not to withstand a hot downpipe.

definetely move it away from the dp, the steel with trap heat which will probably burn through the rubber sooner or later... i recommend buyin a heat wrap for the line.

You don't want it touching. My first oil return line sat about 1/4 inch away, not touching, and it eventually began to melt the rubber THROUGH the metal...

That stuff just insulates, it's silicone or something similar (I have some of it) and it won't keep it from melting

It's supposed to be able to handle up to 2000 degrees fahrenheit for up to 15 minutes. It's not just insulation. Other than making sure the hose doesn't touch it's still the best option. It's better than Thermo-Tec.

It wont withstand it if its touching it. Just route it so its not touching the downpipe.

So its safe to go around the downpipe?!?! i thought the bend back up towards the pan would be to much since the only thing returning the flow of oil is gravity. Thats why tried to go between the down pipe for the most direct flow.
