stock valves ok for 400whp?
Building a LS for boost. Just wanted to know if my stock valves are ok for 400whp on pump gas.
upgrading to crower dual valve springs, crower steel retainers, and 402-t. Should i get valves too? im only gonna go for 400whp.
im asking because i dont wanna upgrade something that i dont need to. Its also gonna be my daily driver, if that matters.

Just curious, what does that have to do with the valves?

OEM type-R valves are the best. Stock valves in general are good till A LOT of hp over 400whp. Tune it correctly and youll never have a problem.

If you are upgrading your valve springs upgrade your valves. Stock valves with aftermarket springs occationally fatigue due to higher seat pressure. I know 2 cases where this type of fatigue has happened. In both cases the motor was destroyed.
There is no point skipping $200 and risking your whole motor.
