stock valves good enough?????
just finished going through a big headache at the machine shop with some aftermarket valves i had ordered for my motor.
i have a 00' b16 head and when the valves were going to be installed the exhaust valves did not fit . the stem was to fat and didnt slide into valve guides. all the intakes were fine , so i measured them and and intake and exhaust stems were exactly the same . fuking gheyyyy ... but w/e .. i called company i bought them from and they told me to send them back for full refund ...
heres my actual question ..
i am debating weather upgrading the valves is worth it . can the stock B16 valves hold up??? i am not intrested in flow ,or light wieght **** ... i just wana make sure that they will not bend or mushroom or anything like that .
its going to be a high HP B20/vtec on boost ...
i think i might be going ahead and just putting stock valves back in with my new dual springs and retainers and calling it a day .. but i wanted to get opinions on the reliablilty of stock valves on boost .. pushing out anywhere from 500-600HP
oh and i plan on revving to 9k maybe a lil more .. not sure ...
buddy of mine is reving his (same setup w/ stock valves) to 9500 all day ... but i just wana see what the "honda-tech" community thinks of doing this ...!!!
