stock type r valves weak?
about to purchase a NEW cylinder head with type r valves. unfortunatly i have been informed that the stock type R valves are weaker and Often brake. Is this common or has anyone ever run into problems running them with springs and retainers on a high boost application? the motor will only ever see <9k rpms... now i know i should throw some ss turds in there but the head is new and dont feel like spending additional 300 dollars on somethign that i may not have too.

so finally, which valves would you recommend as the most safe-appropriate for a b18 GSR turbo kit (lets say for around 350-400whp)??
what retainers also and what springs??
would typer r double springs and typer valves be ok?? ( i am talking using them with GSR cams)

Power has nothing to do with it. Think about RPM's.

ya but seat pressure still has to be strong enough to not open during hi boost~

Re: (DontBlink)
thanks for all the replies .. I do believe my concern is valid because the type r valves are infact smaller in diameter (at some point on the valve) on the one side of the head. I too already have dual springs that will be adding to the seat pressure. I know Honda typically would not compromise the integrity of a part to save a few oz.'s but im sure honda did not factor in the additional stress caused by an aftermarket Heavy duty spring and added pressure levels of a turbo/potential problems caused by it. No one wants to burn a built motor because they saved 300 dollars by not getting a set of valves. I know what I should do ideally . but also curious if running these stockers are a feasible option
a few people say that they have not experienced any problems .. have you heard of people who have?

i think i ll be rev around 8800....
so is it safe to use typer valves and dual springs ?
the pressure wont exceed 15psi
i want something safe and reliable...i dont care paying something more now if this means i wont blow the head
