so i found a sweet deal on a oil pressure gauge from megan only problem is it doesnt have a sender. the gauge i have now ties into a oil line and reads direct pressure but the megan one uses a sender and is electronic. do our cars have a stock oil pressure sensor that i can tie into? otherwise what do i need to do to get this to work? didnt kno this would be a problem till after i bought it.

if we have one stock would it be calibrated differently? or is it just any old sender?

if i were u i would just buy a electric sender. dont mess with the stock one.

i have a digital/electronic oil pressure light in my car and i took out the stock sender and replaced it with the gauge sender. YOU CAN wire your stock one in as well but the electronic one will be more accurate and you can keep track of pressure rather then waiting for that light to come on.

so i did some research and found out that there is a T fitting that screws into the block then on the other end of it both your pressure switch and ur electric sender screw in. but i kno that the threads on the block are a special thread.. sooo has anyone done this kind of setup and where can i find this T fitting?? also will any electric sender work? if not what should i look for??? thanks

or is what your saying is that it is ok to pull out my stock oil pressure switch and put a pressure sending unit in its place? cause if so i can do that to. that would be easier then what i was just sayin. but does the car use the switch for anything that would effect my car?

No, you need to get an electronic sender. You cant use the stock one, it doesnt do readings like that. The fitting in the block is 1/8 NPT. I just picked up a manual Oil pressure gauge from Advance, its made by Sunpro and it works pretty good. I just tied it into my 4 Way adapter that I run my Turbo Feed line from. So now it has (1) Block -> (2) Stock Oil Sender -> (3) Gauge Feed -> (4) Turbo Oil Feed.

great idea.... except all my gauges are smoked megan racing ones and i would like to keep them all the same. could i get some more ideas. or a idea of where to look for that oil pressure sensor T fitting

Get an oil block sandwich adapter. Screw messing with tees.

well they sell the 4way and the NPT fittings at advance auto. My boost gauge is a smoked "JDM" one and the Oil pressure is regular.

dont know about the sending unit, you can get a autometer one or sunpro like previously stated. The fitting thread in the block is NOT a NPT it is BPT for british pipe thread, sounds funny but if you use a NPT it wont fit perfect, it can work but the threads are slightly different. I used this http://store.42draftdesigns.com/Hond...-Kit_p_51.html that way you dont have to worry with a leaky sandwich plate or have a hard tee with a big sending unit that under vibration could form cracks around the threaded hole in the block

dunno but my NPT fittings went right into the block without any problems and my 4 way NPT block works fine with the Oil Pressure Sender.

The hole in the block for your Oil Pressure Sending Unit is directly above your oil filter. It is 1/8" NPT that you can buy fittings for at any local auto parts store. The stock sending unit will not work because it is calibrated for a light, not a gauge. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN these pipe threads. They are tapered, the more you tighten, the tighter it gets, you will eventually cause it too leak if you over-tighten. If you bought the gauge from Megan, their website claims that it should come with the sender along with everything else you need to install it. I would call Megan directly to ask about a sending unit. Their phone number is (626)581-0988.
