Default stock MAP sensor .. what is this vacuum plug ? .. needed ?

from h22 .. what is the purpose of this vacuum plug on one end of the 'T' ? .. and is it needed ? .. other vacuum end runs into the vacuum port on the throttle body, easy enough.
This is the stock setup as removed from my engine bay .. am swapping out to GM 3-bar MAP and was just wondering if I need one end 'plugged' ..

Hey Nick ... its going great, boost build will be finished in one week. Then its off to the tuner. I even managed to keep my fogs with the intercooler setup I have, it looks sweet bro, I'll represent hard very soon .. will keep you updated

.. why did Honda incorporate this into the MAP vac routing ?
