honestly the ls block was not designed for high hp applications, the gsr block was. i would recommend low compression pistons (9:1 whatever) instead of a thicker head gasket. You will need ARP rod bolts/studs anyway so consider replacing the pistons too.
You might consider research on installing the ls crank into the gsr block considering that it's the crank that provides the r/s that is sought after. The major con of the ls block is that it's weaker in top end hp
than the gsr block.
