Default stock DSM bov flange is steel?

The stock 1g dsm bov flange is steel right? So I can just cut it off the pipe and weld it to any type of steel intercooler piping?

Yes, but you'll have to make sure all the coating is off of it first.

Should I cut where the flange meets the pipe or cut some of the pipe off to weld onto the new pipe?

If the diameter of the DSM pipe is the same as you will be using id just weld on the pipe. If not just cut the lange and weld it to your piping.

The DSM pipe is like 1.5" tiny.

The flange is actually cast and will give you a bit of a problem welding to mild steel, but you can do it. It just might not be pretty.

So I can't weld it to my mild steel piping? I mean the DSM pipe is steel as well and the flange is welded to that and looks fine.

I cut mine off stuck it on a piece of 2.25 aluminized exhaust tubing that I hammerd flat just a little so it would sit nice, welded around the inside nicely so it wasn't a huge wide bead, drilled out the center then die grinded it a little bigger. Welds up real nice its cast steel not cast iron.

Steel is steel right? And so I should be able to get it welded by a muffler shop?
