Default stock B20B + blockguard vs. BOOST

I'm going to be buying a JDM B20B soon, and I was looking to boost it. Nothing spectacular, really only like 5-7 psi daily. I was wondering if the stock block + blockguard would be able to take that kind of boost ok, without cracking anything...And if anybody knows of a decent turbo manifold and downpipe that can clear my a/c, let me know!! thanks guys

I always love it when people say this.

Blockgaurd=waste of money

Greddy kit will work, but ditch the blue box.

m'eh, i'm really new to boost so I'm just learning...thanks for the info anyway. So would the stock block and pistons/rods be able to take that boost for a while?

yup it will hold for awhile i had the same motor turboed and at .8bar it made 268whp now im rebuilding b/c cylinders 1,2,3, are cracked my advice either sleeve it or get some thing with a stronger block and thicker walls like b16 or b18

most likely detonation is what caused your sleeves to crack. with some good tuning and managment it probably wouldnt have happened

i am running a B20vtec with stock bottom end on a greddy kit or accually i will be when i put everything back together i think with the proper tuning it should be able to take 10psi for a little bit but this is all i expect out of it. I am not going to run the stock bottom end for a while i have another block that is getting the "special treatment" and then it will see about 26-28psi that also is a B20B. oh yeah not on the greddy kit on a t63 turbonetics should be out next summer for Nopi T4 on the east coast.

iv been running 11.5 psi on my bone stock JDM b20b for 3-4 months now not a hint of problems even did full 5th gear pulls........ its all in your tuning if you got fmu run 5 but if you got a stand alone just tune safely like 11:1-11.5:1 and go easy on the timing...

if I get an FMU, what "ratio" or whatever should i get? like 12:1 10:1 or whatever...also can i use the stock injectors on 5-7 lbs boost? I don't want to have to mess with the transistor box or whatever for DSM injectors and RC's are kind of expensive.

never mind that, i got Venom 350cc injectors.

So far my list is:
T3 turbo
Turbo Manifold and Downpipe from Ebay (haha...cheap!)
Apexi SAFC
Charge Piping
Silicone Connectors, Clamps
Walbro Fuel Pump, 190lph
Venom 350cc injectors
1st gen DSM SMIC
Missing Link
1st gen DSM BOV
Various bolts and stuff

I already have fuel pressure regulator and gauge, anything else you guys suggest/that I need? I don't have enough for hondata

on 5-7 psi you'll be fine on stock motor/injectors, If you can't afford injectors, then i guess a standalone is out of the question. The b20 vtec turbo setup can yield great results on minimal boost. I ran 6.5 psi(.45 bar) for 6 months with no problems
