Default Stock B16A + Alcohol + Boost at 7psi

Hi All, this is my first post regarding Forced Induction. I Live in Brazil and have a Civic Vti 93, it has about 70.000km, and now i want to boost it. As everything here are very hard and expensive to get, i'd like to know from you, the best setup to get (cost/benefit). I'm looking for 230whp. The only thing that i alreadry have it's a Intercooler. It will be runing with Alcohol instead of Gasoline. So the purpose of this post, is to get the "right" turbo. I'd like to have the best top-end possibly with 7psi, so I don't care much for low end. I was thinking about Garrett T3/TO4E (is it ball bearing? BEcause here in Brazil, BB are too expensive to get ) , but don't know what specs to get. I'd like to know if it's a good choice, or there are better? And about the GT series, are they a good option? I was also thinking in a GT25(without R) or a GT28 (Is there wihout BallBearing?), what about them?

obs. My friend did a Turbo Map for my engine at 7.3psi (T3/TO4E 60 http://not2fast.wryday.com/turbo/maps/t04e-60.gif), and what we get was:
5000rpm = 68% efficiency
7600rpm = 78% efficiency (max efficiency)
I think it's very good, but don't know if it's right. Maybe with a bit small, would be even better.

Thanks for any help!

ps, sorry for my poor english

yea I would say just run gas if your plans are only 230whp and 7psi

Try looking at a peakboost turbo kit.

Hi, I'm going to use alcool, because, it'safer and cheaper than gas. I can't find peakboost kits here in Brazil. I just can find something like GT25 here for about $350,00. (it's not the R version ) So my main question is, It's a good ideia using a gt25 for my setup? For management i'm using Unichip, and can tune it in a Dyno. I'm looking for 230-240whp at 7psi with this setup. The main problem i have it's the weak options i can find here n Brazil. So yours help are really important to me. I'm also thinking in get some 450 injectors to use.

Thanks for the reply!

yea 450's would suit you nicely for your power goals.... for the peakboost kits, http://www.wiredspeed.com has them They are a local company here and they are pretty good with things and prices. I am not familiar with the GT25, so I can't speak intelligently if that would suit your needs or not.

Yeah, i'm almost geting a Biagio .50(or .60) / .48
I think the gt25 is too small.
And as MidShipCivic said, ++++ ignition time with alcool

Dunc, as I said, i live in Brazil, so it's very hard($$$) to get parts from usa.

Here is a dyno from a b16a + alcool + unichip + GT25r at 10psi = 318hp
http://www.multiturbo.com.br/images/Digo_P1.jpg HP
http://www.multiturbo.com.br/images/Digo_T1.jpg Torque

So i expect to get someting like 280hp at 7psi with the .50(or.60) / .48

So, what would be better, .50 or .60??

Thanks.

I'm also in Brazil right now(Espirito Santo). I currently tuning my buddy's civic, its a 98 hatch vti but he has JE piston and Eagle rods with a custom kit that we put together. You need at least 880cc injectors, we used 780cc and could feed the car past 5800 rpms (he is using 2 GTI pumps). But he has the edelbrock intake manifold for 8 injector, so now he's gonna use 1000cc primaries and 550 secondaries. I would use a bigger turbo than the gt25, go with at least a .50 with a .63 exhaust. PM me if you need any help.

450 injectors to make 230...I made 235 on 6psi with stock injectors in my b16 with an vortec fmu...I cheaper than injectors and suitable for his hp goals!Or just find blue tops...in a bone yard...both would be fine....

The key word here is ALCOHOL. When ever you are using alcohol on a car, you need to inject at least 80-90% more fuel into the engine and add more timing. Im tuning my buddy car with alcohol on 780cc injectors and @7lbs, it runs out of fuel around 5800-6000 rpms. This is using AEM ems.

Keep in mind that's N/M, not ft-lbs. 309 N/M is around 212 ft-lbs.
