still overheating
ive got a d16z6 boosted with a greddy kit that i just built the motor with eagl rods wiseco pistions, block guard, springs, retainers, and the first time i used a stock hg and apr studs and the head was lifting so i put a cometic hg with brand new arp studs torqued to 82fts and it still over heats but it dont shoot the coolant into the reserve tank like it used to, ive changed the thremostat, ive put a electiric fan that runs constant on it, and i dont know what else to do when it starts to heat up u can turn on the heat and it goes right back down, but ive bled and bled the system to get air out. the only other thing i notice is in the reserve take is like dirt in the coolant, could my radiator be clogged and rusty or what i really need help bc im tired of swapin parts and buyin **** and it still not workin

Re: (mugencivic94)
It should'nt be the KMS block guard, they have plenty of holes for coolant, unlike the neuformz. When's the last time you flushed the system? Also maybe it's time to test your fan, temp sensor, and possible upgrade to an aftermarket radiator.

Re: still overheating (H-T)
Had the same Issue On my Old Motor B16
What Bad Memo's...
Leave your Heater on Full Blast
Well Basically (What I did) Leak the Rad. from the OE Drain (Bottom of Rad.) Start the car on... Disconnect the Top Radiator Hose and Run a Constant Water Hose (To get all those annoying air bubbles out 100%) ...
Connect the Upper Hose back and...Flush the Hose at the Fire wall...
Shut the car off Close the drain cap..ADD 50/50 Anti/Aqua
If this does not work..Then Possibly be your OE RAd. or Rad. cAp.
Hopes this Helps

Re: (Zakar)
What did you origianlly torque the ARP's to with the OEM hg? You can't reuse them after going past 65 ft/lbs because they will strech, so that's why your overflow is probably filling up again. I didn't a lot of research on torquing your hg down before replacing mine and I got mixed results from very experianced builders on this board. Some go by stock and some go higher (50-80). I only did mine to 65 ft/lbs.
I would also ditch the block guard because it will do more harm than good, they are useless and won't save your block if it blows, good tuning will. I'd go back to the OEM hg as well if you haven't already. What kind of fuel management are you running? Sounds like you need a better tune and back the timing down a bit.

thermoswitch.... grounds it self out when a certain temp is reached and turns the fans on

Install a new thremostat and install a dual core radiator too while you're at it since you'll going to be needing it in the long run.
