Steps for TURBO b16
The first thing I would do is check out the Forced Induction forum, theres tons of great info there. Also check out http://www.TurboD16.com they have great info on turbo concepts since they are a SOHC forum lol. But yeah, your best bet right now is to just search around at first if you're the one thats going to be putting the system together. If you're going to pay someone to do all the work and setup/tune the system then just make sure its a reputable shop. But yeah, read up first before you post broad questions like this, some HT members will flame you, kinda sucks but thats HT for ya. Goodluck.

Are you asking what you should get before you go turbo?
Turbo is a system that requires all parts, you can't just put on some intercooler piping or just the exhaust manifold...you have to install all parts.
Things I would check before you go turbo is compression and leak down tests, and do preventative maintenance like spark plugs, oil changes etc etc. Other than that you just need a 'kit'. I suppose you could start piecing your kit together...actually now that I think about it WTF are you talking about?

Start there.
-Figure out what your power goals are.
-What kind of EMS are you going to run: uber/crome, hondata, AEM EMS
-Start to assemble the parts you are going to need.
High ammounts of boost will probably require some low end building, ie: pistons, rods, mabe sleeves.

1. Build a AFC junkyard turbo setup
2. Move up to a reliable managment
3. Move up to a new turbo
4. Make too much power and blow a hole in your trans.
These are the steps I followed, something else might work for you.
