the motec m4 is a proven platform.

The autronic is the new motec. Its up to you, but for any realy race car that requires complete tunability, its motec or autronic. DFI is cool and all but not enough.g

for the run of the mill 400-500 hp street car, hondata works nice.

autronic sounds like a good system but not proven yet and no tuners.

If I recall the AEM actually has more features and is more flexible than the Haltech. I went from wanting Haltech to AEM and now I just want a Hondata for my quick SOHC street car.

I mean autronic is not going to be that complicated but still i would liek to see someone actaulyl run it and do good with it. I havent seen a pro car or any quick class car yet i mean you always want to to try new things and be the first but some times you pay for that... tuning is something thats really key to any engine life.

The best bet is go with what your tuner knows. If not you will have so many headaches.

Who in the Tri-state Area does tune Motec...
Bullish Racing in Hackensack NJ, tunes Motec systems. They are dealers for Motec and run them on all of their race cars.

Yes it was. I heard lately the Bergenholtz team have been jumping from ecu to ecu. They recently tried Pac Bell, then I heard went to Mo Tec, now Autronic????
Oh and those Solora's are bad ***! I can't wait to see those things run in person. I saw them on that new NOPI show last Sunday on TNN!

I'll give you the best tip you will ever get but will also ignore. For a race car, go Autronic. It's windows based, not dos like MoTec. Can do more than Motec at half the price. Easier to make power and even has an optional self tuning chip

http://www.davesport.com/autronic.htm
http://www.turbofast.com.au/autronic/autronic.html
I agree with Earl. My tuner in Singapore is able to get some bad *** results with it. I plan to get one for my car.

I think it is Pactel...not Pac Bell
BTW, Bergenholtz has not run an Autronic. Too bad

I know one person who is running Autronic. Nate Romero... He has the world first 11 second pro-stock VW and I think it's the world quickest water-cooled N/A VW. He says he loves Autronic. His site is http://www.race101.com

Ive read alot on Autronic and liked what I saw but have not found a place to download the software to see it first hand. Anyone know where a can dnld it? Also recently downloaded DTA, and Tec III. Anyone have any first hand experiance building Maps for DTA, TEC3, and Autronic? What did you like and not like about tunning them?

I haven't had any first hand experience with tuning Autronic yet... I plan to use it on my set-up if I ever finish it... email nate@race101.com he's a real cool guy. He'll probably answer any questions you got about Autronic.

Me<<<newbie

Almost all of the stand alone systems will fit your needs, for example Roger Sango was using SDS back in the day.

I personally have much experience with Electromotive TEC-II, and since have also tuned vehicles with Holley, DTA,DFI, and Autronic, which I am using in my race car.

The injector drivers in the Autronic are what impresses me the most, I run 1100 cc/min injectors and I can actually drive them down to .8 ms. which yields a lean (15+:1),stable idle on my race motor, I couldnt even dream of that with some other systems ive seen.
The other features are on par with the other serious systems out there also, sequential inj, individual cyl fuel trim, anti-lag,boost control, traction control...etc.

If you have any questions and/or are interested in Autronic, contact Steve Nichols at Aussie Imports LLC (.com) - he is the exclusive US distributor for Autronic and anybody else you can buy it from is a middle man.

Earl is right about the autronic, it is bad ***. As for the AEM EMS, you might save money by not having to convert to obd2 but youll sure as hell lose this money plus about another 400 minimum on the dyno. There are people out that that can tune the aem quite well, but it takes a lot of work. My tuner, who has hondata down to a science http://www.dynotuner.net, says that he has done one before and you can look to spend a whole day on the dyno tuning this ecu. 8 hours, and thats IF the ecu comes with a base map that will start the car. The aem ems has sooo much to offer and is a real deal standalone engine management system. But the bottom line of the deal is i advise you go with the unit that YOUR tuner is familiar with and can tune perfectly. If you bring him an autronic and he has no clue how to program it, you're looking at spending a lot of time on the dyno as well as money.

You can't shake a stick at the Hondat though.

You can run 10's NA with that **** and it doesn't cost much either.

I recommend the speedpro, or the FAST system as its called now. I am curious, to everyone that recommended the motec, have you run them? How easy are they to tune? I have used Hondata, FAST, and DFI. FAST is by far the easiest to tune, as its all done on the fly. Much better IMO than having to use my emulator on the hondata. How many of you actually tune your hondata yourselves. Then again, it is a pain to have to create a base map for the fast, as its basically done already with the hondata. DFI was very powerful, just not friendly. I havent tried the new 7th gen yet tho. I like the fact of the WB built in to the speedpro. Very easy to tune on the street.

YES........when/where did people get this idea that it wasnt?
Probably because it uses a stock ecu. THat would be my guess. It's a kick *** product in my opinion, especially if your obd-1, obd2 EMS is the way to go...

My haltech setup with sensors was less than a hondata 4b w/ datalogging and the E6K does all of the above plus some with no chip burning and on the fly changes with the engine running.

It is way more expensive to tune a Haltech though..I researched that route..

My vote goes out to speedpro. No specific reason, just its the one i run, and I'm much happier with this than with my haltech I used to run.

If your tuner begins your tuning on the dyno then I feel sorry for you.
