My $.02

Its between Hondata 4b and AEM EMS. Since you dont have to go OBDI and burn roms everytime you want to change the Hondata, AEM EMS it is.

Pricewise, if you count the OBDII to I conversion and the cost of the ECU. The EMS is a much.....much better buy.

For a race car, if you have the money for it, Motec.

Eventually I do have the moeny. But the tuners around my area are Haltec Inline pro, dfi in new jersey, speedpro in NC. What's speedpro's webpage.

They're all good systems.

If you are planning on tuning your own car, buy the system that you will understand and that you can learn on from others. Hondata is the easiest system to learn, IMO and it offers enough control for about 98% of the people out there. Haltech is badass, too, but the software is arcane in comparison. If you don't like DOS, run away! I like DOS.

If you don't plan on tuning your own car, get whatever your tuner likes!

A friend of mine is actually selling his Mo Tec unit. He recently decided to go with a different or newer version of Mo Tec so he wants to sell this one. I believe he bought it from JG while he was out in Cali. He's actually a member on this board. His screen name is Bambooluv (Peter). Give him a try!

12:1 FMU w/ inline pump, where is that on the poll?

That's about as standalone as you can get. They just stand there alone and watch the engine run rich

Hondata, but only if you can't go w/ the FMU/pump

My vote goes for Haltech. Cheaper than Motec and Speedpro, more adjustment than the EMS and Hondata, and easier to use than the DFI.

I'll give you the best tip you will ever get but will also ignore. For a race car, go Autronic. It's windows based, not dos like MoTec. Can do more than Motec at half the price. Easier to make power and even has an optional self tuning chip

A friend of mine uses Autronic on his 500+ MR2. I believe the person who helped desighn the first Mo Tec went his own way and started Autronic out of Austrailia. That 550 or so horsepower Prelude someone was showing on here last week runs Autronic. I heard good things about it. My friend had Bob Norwood (Dallas) tune his. I just recently had a talk with Brad from Alamo Motorsports in Arlington and he said he has done quite a few Autronic's and thinks it's great. I fortunately run AEM although I might switch to Accell Gen 7 mainly beacuse my tuner mainly tunes Accell & Speed Pro, and he 's giving the Gen 7 to me at cost. We'll see how my last efforts with the AEM go this week. Main thing find a tuner whom you trust and feel comfortable tuning your car. Next get whatever system he feels comfortable tuning. Why buy something he's never tuned and pay for him to learn the system! Learn from my mistake!
