Spring too weak on the Wastegate?
I have a TIAL Wastegate with 0.5bar spring. Roughly around 7-8lbs. I got it when I was planning to boost only 10 lbs at most... but that was before I decided to build the internals up.
I plan to boost 15-20lbs with my setup now and I'm kinda worrying if the spring is too weak. Or am I worrying too much? Will the Wastegate be fine?

General rule of thumb is that doubling the wastegate spring, and then it will start to flutter. Like stated, you can run more, and less and it may still be effective.

I've read many posts where people say it's not recommended to boost more than twice what your spring is rated at. So in your case, 15lbs or so. You can always, call or email Tial to be sure. They would be the authority more than almost anybody on HT. http://www.tialsport.com

I just spoke with TIAL's Tech representative and he told me as long as the exhaust pressure does not exceed 24psi while trying to make 20psi it will work without a problem.
Hope they're right.

Sorry for the late reply. I have the 44mm Tial w/ a 10 psi spring venting exhaust from a PT series Precision turbo. The same turbo with a 35mm Tial crept very badly even on a 15 psi spring. Some people have luck with the 35 some don't. Your exhaust and dumptube also play a major role in how effectivly the WG works.

yeah i have a tail wastegate also with the 7psi spring and let me tell you on a built boosted gsr it fluttered past 10psi and i was hoping to go for 15psi, as you can see that didnt happen.
get the high pressure spring.
and i agree with kwua on the bad fluttering with the 35mm's Tials, **** ide rather have a delta creep on instead, lol atleast that will let me boost higher....
